Christmas 2009

Well, I know Christmas is over, but wanted to pos some Christmas pics here. I am going to try in 2010 to be a better blogger. I am going to try making myself lots more to do lists and schedules, like a shopping day for groceries etc. Also would like to try menu planning again. I have done it in the past and it really saves on groceries. Well enough about new years resolutions here are some pics. Enjoy.

Can't believe I have not posted these great pictures I have from September and a trip to the lake. We had a good time, and the kids loved the water, they would have jumped right in if they were allowed, the water was pretty chilly.

These pictures are actually from June, but I thought they are too cute not to post. I can't wait to scrapbook these. They are growing up so fast, I wish they would just stop growing for at least 6 months so I could get my scrapbooking caught up. I could just stop taking pictures for 6 months, but that won't happen either. So I will just continue to be behind and enjoy them while they are still my little ones.

Coming soon posts from our Disney Vacation. (hopefully tonight when my kids are in bed.)

Wow, can't believe the last time I posted on here was in the winter when we had snow. Here are some pics of Mason going from a wolf scout to a bear scout.

Snowy Day

We are enjoying the snow, for now. The kids (and dad) made a snow fort. I still have not gotten my snowman for this year, they all used the excuse that the snow was too flaky, not good for packing. Hopefully this won't be our last snow.

Last week the weather was so wonderful. I took full advantage and grabbed some more pictures, Mason gets weary of all my photoshoots, but funny, Sadie never tires of having her picture taken.

Mason's latest venture

Tonight we officially joined cub scouts. Mason is very excited and has been studying his handbook. He had tried on the uniform about 5 times a day. Should be a fun undertaking.

Flying around on Photobucket

Wow, just learned how to make slideshows out of photos so you may be seeing more of these. Hope you enjoy. The coffee filter book is several years old, may make another one with updated pictures.

Fluttering with butterflies

Today, Sadie and I with some friends were able visit a butterfly park. It was interesting and fun to see. The weather was beautiful and the butterflies were cooperative. Enjoy the pics I've posted.

These are some recent pictures from our visit to the park. It was our last visit before the start of school. Mason loved the creek. Sadie just likes having her picture taken.

My nest is getting older

I can't believe my little baby is now 3 years old. This birthday is a little more difficult then when she turned 2. It actually means she is now a "toddler". No longer a baby, no more baby talk. She talks as clear and with words as big as what her 7 year old brother use. I won't dwell on this any longer.

She had a princess party, she picked the theme and had a great time. She looked so cute in her princess attire. She received a pink sleeping bag, which she has been asking us for, that and piano lessons. Will have to work on the piano lesson thing. She also received nice princess gifts from her little friends that were in attendance.

That same afternoon of the party, her dad decided it was time to get out the toddler bed. As if turning 3 was not enough of a milestone. So up the toddler bed went and down with the crib. Sadie loves her new bed, she couldn't wait to go to bed that night, and kept saying, "I think I am kind of tired" something my kids never say.

A snowy day

Since we were dumped on with snow this weekend, church was cancelled today. It was a nice family day, playing monopoly, lounging around in jammies and of course going out to play in the snow. The kids had fun, especially Mason who is really into snowball fights now, he had his work cut out for him with his dad as an opponent. We stayed outside for an hour or so, then wanted to go in and get warm. When we tried to get in we soon realized that I had locked us out. We tried to get in the windows and John even tried using some tools to pick the lock. All attempts were unsuccessful. We had to call a lock smith after being outside for 2 hours. He was able to get the lock open within a minute. Boy, were we thankful for a warm house, and the smell of dinner, pork and sauerkraut from the crock pot added to the enjoyment.

The somewhat empty nest

Well, now that Huckabee headquarters is closed, although not for good, just for the next four years, there is kind of an emptyness. I was putting a lot of emotional time into his campaign, but now I can get back to focusing on other things, like my husband and my children, not that they were neglected through this whole thing, just their laundry wasn't always done in a timely manner and sometimes dinner was pizza, in fact my kids enjoyed being involved in this campaign, going to see Mike Huckabee was a highlight for Mason and Sadie got her picture in the newspaper because of our campaigning. I have a lot more to scrapbook now. Overall it was a very good experience for us all, my kids and I have learned a great deal about politics and we have experinced what it is to lose. I only pray in 4 years we will experience what it is to win.

My "nest" has now become a Mike Huckabee headquarters. I know most think he has no chance but I choose not to listen to the negative media. There is still hope that at least he can stop Sen. McCain from receiving all the delegates he needs and it will then go to convention where I feel Huckabee would stand a good chance. He is the conservative in the race. My children now run around saying "Mike Huckabee" and I even caught them saying his name to other kids at church tonight. It does not bother me. They are living through the history making process and learning in their own little ways about how our government-democracy works. My son is even wanting after school tomorrow to help me construct signs for Mike Huckabee. He is very crafty. It is a wonderful thing to be able to express our opinions and have a say in who our leaders are, remember, every vote counts.

My family

Here is our latest family shot from Christmas. Anyone with kids knows, it is not the easiest to get a group shot with everyone doing what they should. Will be trying again at Easter time.

My nest is truly fluttering as well as my stomach as tommorrow is the big Super Tuesday for the presidential primaries. What a wonderful country we live in to be able to vote for those we want to lead our nation. I wish Ohio would be voting tommorrow but alas, we are not. I can only hope those who are voting tommorrow will make informed choices and vote from their hearts, not just who they think can win, but whom they really want to win. Since this is my blog and this is America, I can put in my plug for Republican Canidate Mike Huckabee. I am not as well spoken as he, so I have placed a link where you will be able to get to know him a little better. You will have to copy and paste it into your browser.
